Virtual ISI World Statistics Congress 2021 Registration

Register before 11 June in order to have the early bird rate. From 12 June, registration fees will increase for all delegates.

2021 ISI Jan Tinbergen Awards
The ISI is pleased to announce the results of the 2021 competition for the Jan Tinbergen Awards. These biennial awards are for best papers by young statisticians in addressing statistical problems in countries with limited statistical infrastructure.

2021 Mahalanobis International Award

The Mahalanobis Award Committee has selected Prof. Heleno Bolfarine to receive the 2021 ISI Mahalanobis International Award.


2021 Founders of Statistics Prize
The 2021 Founders of Statistics Prize is awarded to Prof. Robert Tibshirani for his 1996 paper on ‘Regression Shrinkage and Selection via the LASSO’.

SJIAOS June 2021 issue
The Statistical Journal of the IAOS (SJIAOS) June 2021 issue has two special themes: ‘The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic’ and ‘Assessing Compliance with the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics (FPOS).‘

Stat SDSS 2020 special issue

Stat is delighted to present the first-ever peer-reviewed compilation of work presented at the Symposium for Data Science and Statistics, an annual conference that brings together data scientists, statisticians, computer scientists, and others interested in the interface between computing and statistics.

IASC-ARS Revised Statutes and By-laws

The revisions for the Statutes and By-laws of the IASC Asian Regional Section were approved on 27 April 2021.


IASC-ARS Special Session in June 2021

The IASC-ARS will host a special session as an interim meeting at the annual gathering of the Japanese Society of Computational Statistics on 3-4 June 2021.


IASC-ARS 2022 “Data Science Everywhere: Innovations in Statistical Computing”

The 11th Conference of IASC-ARS will be held on 21-24 February 2022 in a hybrid format at Doshisha University, Japan.


Abdel El-Shaarawi Early Investigator Award 2021
The International Environmetrics Society (TIES) selected Stefano Castruccio from the University of Notre Dame, USA as the winner of the prestigious Abdel El-Shaarawi Early Investigator Award 2021.

Wiley-TIES Best Paper Award 2020

Nicholas Beck, Christian Genest, Jonathan Jalbert and Mélina Mailhot win the Wiley-TIES Best Paper Award for their paper ‘Predicting extreme surges from sparse data using a copula‐based hierarchical Bayesian spatial model’.


Bernoulli Society New Researcher Award 2021

Fang Han, Aaditya Ramdas and Anru Zhang win the 2021 edition of the BS News Researcher Award for innovative contributions in the field of Mathematical Statistics.


10th BS-IMS-WC in Probability and Statistics

The Bernoulli-IMS 10th World Congress in Probability and Statistics (BS-IMS-WC) will be held virtually on 19-23 July 2021.
